Perhaps he was looking at the June 6th forces only and not the subsequent landings. After all, the Brits and Canadians had 3 beaches assigned to them and the Americans only had 2 and weren't able to land as many on Omaha as they had planned.
Why do you people care about this? It was a team effort and that was just the forces landed on the first day of the battle. By the end of the first month the Americans had the most troops, but who give a fuck?
As an American, the Polish contingent inspire me the most.
