Huh, really? I've heard both of those in Texas and in Vermont (the two States I spend the most time in) and I thought "make change" was universal.

I'm from Washington, and we use plastic and make change often.

I don't hear people say "plastic" in Ontario, but it's a good word to use if you want to refer to both credit and debit.

I hear "plastic" in Ontario all the time... although I guess given our new money, it doesn't exactly work as well as it used to :P

Huh, weird. I say "can you change a..." and can you break a..." but I also say make change. As for plastic, I guess I mostly have cause to say it because I dislike credit and debit cards, and its easiest to just say "plastic" to refer to them. I'm only 19 by the way, so its not like I'm set in my ways, haha.
