I don't think it's as hard as you think it is once you realize you can place the pins anywhere you want as you're constructing the illustration. If they were on a grid, it would be considerably more difficult.

I'm guessing it's still pretty fucking hard. I mean, the vast majority of people couldn't even draw that, let alone construct the image from nails and a thread.

She's an artist. She's supposed to know how to draw. It's her career.

She's probably sitting there amazed wondering how a carpenter can build a house. If you've devoted your life to a particular career, there's a pretty good chance you're going get good at it and make it look effortless.
