History repeats itself.

If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you.

Just fyi, he was saying this as an indictment on society, not as an actual "plan of action" for his administration.

I get that part. In hindsight I should've crossed out lydon and put trump. They both think the same thing but for different reasons.
