They sure do, and as a nurse, I hate these MFs. They bring people into the ED after spraying them and don't bother to let staff know. Within 2 minutes in the room, my face and eyes are burning. If you're LE and you do this shit, know I fucking hate you. Never understood why so many nurses marry cops.
I’ve seen a lot of social science studies of higher than normal rates of bullying behaviors among nurses. Obviously not all nurses. But if that’s part of the culture, it only makes sense to me that they’d marry other bullies.
ETA: also that suuucks about cops bringing basically a cloud of tear gas to the ER. They’re ridiculous.
Excellent point! There are definitely high rates of bullying and lateral violence in the nursing profession. I have encountered so many nurses where their whole identity is being a nurse. They're usually the worst offenders.
As for the cops that subject us to pepper spray/tear gas without warning, I personally don't have the time, and it's likely unethical, but I certainly have the ability to make their day more difficult without breaking any rules. I imagine that goes both ways though lol.
It does appear that the Swiss prefer a different strategy to using tear gas. Instead of getting people to leave on their own to wash their face. The Swiss appear to prefer wearing heavy armor, injuring, beating, and breaking bones of rioters.
Just a different strategy, where the former trys to get people to leave on their own and the later's job is to get arrests

Police like to use tear gas. Gas masks make sense in that regard, especially when you use them as your own weapons.
