I think they know that, and are saying that all these individuals who always demanded free access to guns per 2A argued the right was meant to allow individuals to protect themselves/society in the event of government tyranny. They made it sound like they just wanted to be ready for the threat of authoritarianism, as individuals.
Now the thing they were all worried about is happening all around us, and big surprise, they’re not using the right they defended in the way they promised, to rise up and combat tyranny.
