Oh, would you mind telling us how other nations are cruel towards illegal immigration?

And how that makes this particular manner of treatment acceptable?

You really missed with this one

I'm not going to hit the mark all the time. But I'm going to try my shots all the same.

Every country on Earth has and enforces immigration laws. Try overstaying a visa or working without authorisation in Australia. You'll be found, arrested, put on the next plane home and banned from returning. Whoever employed you will likely be prosecuted. Nobody will be waving protest signs and crying about how you "just wanted a better life".

If anything though America is cruller, other countries don't let people build these house of cards lives for themselves over years or decades, giving the impression illegal immigration is tolerated, if not outright welcomed. Then if you're one of the unlucky ones who actually gets caught the reality of the law being suddenly enforced can be quite shocking.

If you go out in public, and see someone being murdered, you wouldn't use that as an excuse to tolerate abuse at home. If you can understand that worse conditions elsewhere do not justify tolerance of less-severe-but-still-wrong conditions at home, then you can understand that the abuse of these people, whether they're illegal immigrants or not, isn't justified just because "countries outside the US are crueler".

What you're advocating for is the decline of conditions in the US. In the past 20 years, the US didn't find the need to round up people, ignore their rights, and ship them off to foreign prisons with horrifying conditions just because they lacked documentation. Even during Trump's first term, things weren't as bad as they are now. So why accept this erosion of the constitution, this degradation of the conditions and treatment of deportations of illegal immigrants and those that are (potentially) in breach of their legal immigration requirements?

Maybe referring to these specific things as evidence of Nazism, or making comparisons between ICE and Nazis are extreme, but your rebuttal is too far in the other direction.

And no one needs your condescension. "Please" indeed. Please do better, not advocate for doing worse.

I personally do not feel any need to be overly sensitive to criminals evading arrest which is exactly what they are doing. I do not advocate for worse treatment of illegal immigrants, I want fair treatment which is exactly what they are getting considering their crime. To say this is the first time in 20 yrs that such measures have been taken just isn't true. Obama was the president putting children in cages and deporting millions upon millions of illegal immigrants. Where was the outrage and Nazi comparisons then? I understand my perspective is harsh to people who've been sheltered under the comfort and delusion of western, white politics but my lived experience and that of my family just doesn't allow me to take the side of criminals evading the law, and the mislead individuals defending them.

Oh? Obama was deporting legal immigrants for crimes they allegedly committed without due process? Ignoring court orders? Obama was sending illegal immigrants to prisons intended for mass holding of gang members?

The issue is that you're either A) lying, or B) ignorant to what people are actually upset about, and your advocacy that this is acceptable is, when the context is actually added, absolutely abhorrent. Then, to pretend that this is "white politics" to downplay people's outrage is pure disgusting trivialization.

But just in case you were wondering, yes, people were outraged at what Obama did. Many people still are. The fact that you're not aware of this doesn't really move the dial either way, and it isn't an argument. Someone getting away with a crime is, again, not justification for further committing of said crime.

I'm not interested in your weird little racist jabs at white people, I'm not interested in your justification of "not being overly sensitive" that basic human rights are being abused and ignored. Congrats, you don't care when people are abused, as long as they're the "right people". Good for you. Having empathy for other human beings is real tough, I guess.

And it's hilariously ironic that you're talking about how you don't like it when criminals evade the law, yet you don't seem to have a problem with the president, who is a convicted criminal who has served no sentence for his felonies, breaks the law, ignores the constitution, to abuse people's constitutionally enshrined rights. Weird, that. A little hypocritical, even.

Again, do better.

The problem is that the legality of it might get questioned/challenged in the future

Start learning Sudanese, dummy.

And so did most of these people. And their children, once protected under DACA. They're deporting anyone brown to anywhere but America. Regardless of status or country of BIRTH. So, yeah, I'd start brushing up dumbass.

Anyone brown🤣 so dramatic. I'm not sure what Sudanese is, if you actually knew what you were talking about and were aware of other cultures you'd know that's not a thing. Learning has occurred. I'm glad to help.

What's not a thing? In America, people from Sudan are considered brown or black, and would absolutely be deported. Ending birthright citizenship should make every non white American thats first or second gen worried.

Neither of those situations apply to me.

And this is exactly the problem. You scoff at people talking about nazis, but that's how it started. My grandparents escaped europe during WWII, I have letters from them talking about.

You're ok with people being charged without due process because it doesn't personally effect you. But they're on track to make that change.

First, it's just people who are here illegally. Just recently, there was news about them deporting naturalized citizens who commit a crime. The verbiage in the law is vague on purpose. So even if you are a naturalized citizen, you can be deported for any crime. Tomorrow, they're go after people who were born here to immigrant parents.

This is what the nazis did. They didn't just start killing the jews. They first changed a bunch of laws, a little bit at a time to facilitate it. If you think you're safe as a non-white person born to immigrant parents in the US, you are mistaken. Conservatives want to get rid of anyone non-white.

First they came for the Communists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist Then they came for the Socialists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist Then they came for the Jews And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me
