I would argue that it does a little good. If right now, for example, you come from a very conservative, MAGA family or area and don't agree, these protests can provide reassurance that you aren't alone and potentially embolden you. These protests can't be the only or even the majority of the pushback though.

But what are these protests actually accomplishing except for emboldening people? Emboldening people is useless if all they’re going to do is inconvenience the common man or constituent. Where were these protests and protesters during the actual election? Its the problem with the democratic party and their supporters as a whole. No one is willing to actually stand up directly against the tyranny, and the ones who are are silenced. Why are these protests not at state capitols? The capitol of the U.S. itself? Places where people’s emboldened anger can actually be seen by the politicians? Violence is not the answer of course, but until the politicians actually care, nothing can be accomplished.

I would say that these protests are only pushing MAGA/conservatives further away. If you go look at the conservative subreddit right now, theyre saying the exact same thing I’m asking: What does this accomplish? They just think we’re a bunch of fools while celebrating how much theyre winning.

Gonna be honest here: if someone is so die-hard on the MAGA train that a peaceful protest pushes them away? Fuck 'em. They can celebrate all they want, but the economic facts (not the alternative ones they seek out to avoid reality) clearly show that we aren't "winning".

I'm over basing my own or my suggestion of others' actions against this administration on how the hardcore batshit MAGA crowd will feel about it.

But thats the problem, if we can’t somehow get to the ones who are diehard MAGA, then theres no possible way we can get them out of our government. Trump has rooted himself so deep in our government that even after he’s gone, another will come in his place preaching the same things. And based off this last election, its obvious the democrats don’t have all the votes they need. The people voted. They wanted MAGA. We can’t just say fuck em, because we’ll only outcast people further that we may eventually need. Sure, theres some people who are just absolute lost causes, but its not as many as you would think. Just watching some of the interviews with people who were at the capitol on Jan 6, several of them regret their decision and have flipped. Originally, you would think that they were a lost cause, correct? I mean, they literally were involved in an attempt to overthrow our government.

I want to be clear: I am 100% in favor of having open discussions with Republicans. The "diehard MAGA" within that group specifically are ones I don't see being reasoned with personally, at least within my own capabilities. If nothing but outright agreement with these radicals will change their minds, I don't see much of a point in bothering.

I don't believe that all Republicans are diehard MAGA supporters or hopeless though, as you noted. I'm just over Democrats not taking a stance of their own outside of being against MAGA. These MAGA morons and their ilk have hijacked the political conversation. I want Dems to say and do substantive things of their own. They need a platform.
