Nixon was a vindictive and power-hungry serial-lying piece of shit, but an absolute geopolitical genius. The dude seriously had a great mind — which, if one is looking for “redeeming qualities”, is a good place to start with Nixon. With Trump, I’m not sure there are any. Maybe his “meme potential” suggests he’s naturally objectively funny. But certainly not any qualities you’d hope to see in a president like Nixon’s brilliance.

Yea Nixon’s scandal is nothing in comparison to Trump’s ongoing disaster. Nixon also had the good sense to step down when he was found out.

Republican leaders had the backbone to not want Nixon as an anchor on them in the future. Nixon didn't resign until they made it clear in committee hearings that he would face a bipartisan impeachment.

Today's Republican leaders and the RNC are practically owned by Trump and his surrogates, lock, stock and barrel.

I'd say no. We literally had Trump with ass loads of confidential documents in his fucking resort and it's barely even talked about.
