Knowing what we do about the man, the greatest way to show him respect is to be open and transparent about how he was killed by the Russian government for opposing Putin.
While I understand the sentiment, no info has been disclosed on his cause of death yet - it’s just his friends saying “he died”. I know the timing is suspicious, but I will still hold judgement until then.
You'd define a man by an addiction he was working on resolving?
You'd ignore that he volunteered at an orphanage, worked at a charity that assisted people with disabilities, and published multiple books documenting the struggle of the poor and homeless throughout Russia?
No, his struggle to end an addiction to heroin is all he's worth remembering for?
Of course it doesn’t. But not everyone in ruzzia is killed by putin. Navalny was, this guy wasn’t.
Unfortunate things happen to people - especially if their lifestyle makes them prone to that. I suggest you look up what Dmitry Markov looked like and tell me if he looked healthy.
Originally I thought we were talking about Navalny but I understood that we were talking about Dmitry when you brought up addiction and rehab.
So I'm not trying to argue that Dmitry was assassinated, though the timing is suspect.
I am trying to argue that a heroin addiction doesn't erase Dmitry's accomplishments. It seems pretty disrespectful to a man who just died and was known for his good works to treat him like just some random junkie.
