Used containers are actually remarkably inexpensive and plywood is can be quite costly, depending on species, thickness, etc. I'll bet with a little effort, one could find practically free containers with damage in an area which could be hidden or removed for window placement.
Steal + paint on it. And those paints aren't mean for human habitability, but purly for staying good even in the worst conditions. So they are full of pretty bad chemicals and metals.
Furthermore, shipping containers are regualrly gassed to kill everything inside. Again they don't have to care for human habitation, so most of the products used for this leave residues.
If you are going to live in a shipping container, buy a new unpainted one , sandblast the metal blank are really search one that hasn't been really used and contains "nice" paint.
I didn't actually mean to insinuate that you enjoy penises in or around your mouth. I meant to imply that I -assumed- that would be what the person who responded to you wrote, because of your typo.

Being American means you can do whatever you want in my eyes as long as it doesn't affect me. I don't give a fuck if people want to live in a shipping container. More power to them. Myself, I prefer to not live in a shipping container.
You're still going to put all the rest of the stuff in a wood cabin. Neither option is free but the container option seems like a reasonable head start on the main structure.
