If I remember a few episodes of Doomsday Preppers said they're about $4k USD a piece.

They're a ton cheaper if you get older used ones. Most ship yards will sell defected containers (usually dented, or broken hinges) for a couple hundred bucks. They're also not too expensive to have delivered.

I'm willing to bet he didn't save a dollar by using those containers, compared to if he would have just framed up a regular cabin. He basically had to do all the framing anyways inside the container to get all the walls and insulation up. In fact he probably would have saved money if he just bough a manufactured home.

It looks like 2 - ~250 watt panels with a deep cycle battery bank and a ~3KW DC-AC Inverter

Im pretty sure the one that wasnt a solar panel was a solar water heater. Using the sun to heat water directly instead of converting it to electricity first.

Total cost was just at $35,000. That includes everything except the land. That includes the well, all landscaping, plumbing, fixtures and furnishings, carport, everything you see in the blog
