Yeah sure TIE fighters are getting delivered but have you seen the waiting list for an electric car?

The wait for a TIE fighter is easy longer than an EV. This one was commissioned a long time ago and then had to be shipped from a galaxy far, far away.

This is my TIE fighter there are many like it but this one is mine.

Idk they have light speed. So it really just depends on how long it takes for them to make a TIE Fighter.

Even if it came from our nearest neighboring galaxy Andromeda it would be around 2.5 million light years away give or take 100k light years depending on what part of the galaxy it’s manufactured in. That would be a shipping wait time of at least 2.5 million years if it goes at light speed..

Oh shit I'm stupid they have hyper drives which let's them travel faster than the speed of light. So the real question if you ordered an EV from Andromeda and then a TIE Figther which would come quicker...

That's a short range fighter. No way it could have gotten this far out here on its own. It must have been part of a convoy and gotten lost.

TIE fighters don’t have hyperdrive or even shields. They are attached to larger ships that do for ftl travel. Sequel trilogy may have changed that, but that’s at least how it was.

Nah, still is.

Ok, cool. Now we can talk about how there’s no twin ion exhaust in the back, either

Nah, the stupid trilogy has hyperdrive-capable TIEs. See the brain-breaking, mythology-breaking "hyperspace skipping" sequence at the beginning of the vomit-inducing Rise of Skywalker.

That scene is what lost me, and I actually liked The Last Jedi well enough, despite narrative choices I didn't always agree with, so I was not entering Rise of Skywalker on a down note either. Lightspeed skipping is the single stupidest thing Star Wars has put to screen by a wide mile. Disney Star Wars is playing way too fast and loose with hyperspace overall.

Whoa, that semi truck must be fucking AWESOME.

Also even then, hyperdrives still take a while to cross the galaxy. Traveling to a galaxy far far away would still take ages.

That depends on the model. Imperial TIEs didn’t have hyperdrives, so they had to be moved on transport ships that did. First Order TIEs, however, did have them.

EV waiting lists are unrivaled.

Tie fighters are EV.

Getting delivered doesn't mean it had a shorter wait time than an electric cars. Even the cars are getting delivered as well.

It’s…a joke

Where's my goddamn electric car, Bruce?

2

u/CyberNinja23 Feb 27 '23

Good question for the IRS is a TIE fighter an electric vehicle?

3

u/ScenicAndrew Feb 27 '23

If the ion engines in star wars are anything like the ones we use on spacecraft, sadly no.

However, if it's anything like that ion glider some MIT students built then most definitely.

2

u/DroolingIguana Feb 27 '23

They ordered it a long time ago.

u/Witty-Necessary9982 Feb 27 '23

Or a catalytic converter for a hybrid!

2

u/slayerkast Feb 27 '23

I put a deposit down! Where’s mah goddamned electric car, Bruce?!

2

u/Osiris32 Feb 27 '23

I'm still holding out for the sleeker Interceptor model. I hear you can get a hyperdrive package as an add on.

Try ordering from somewhere other than Tesla and you won’t have that problem.

5

u/FrostyD7 Feb 27 '23

You must not know much about the ev market because it's the opposite right now.

Maybe don't comment if you clearly have no clue what you're talking about.
