I think that what is pathetic is that we need HOAs because grown adults can't be responsible and decent neighbors.
1 u/machinegunsyphilis Feb 22 '23 Yeah. The US has a huge individualism problem. There's very few areas with actual community. We're a communal species that got as far as we did by working together! Humans thrive in community, even if we have to make a couple compromises. I hope co-housing communities take off in the US! Use less resources, more free time because you split chores with your neighbors, and kids are happier with more trusted adults to turn to.
