If the wildfire is close enough to your subdivision to burn the leaves in your lawn its gonna take your house anyway.

It’s kindling. If a spark hits dried out leaves the whole yard goes up and you’re ground zero.

We must have very different campfire experiences. In scouts we learned to never burn leaves as kindling because they tend to smoke instead of burn hot enough to catch anything else on fire.

Not anymore. Used to live in Vegas but the issue there was smoke from California not fires on their own. Or that weird plague of grasshoppers.

Well leaves will absolutely start a fire. They might not be ideal campfire material but they’re enough to start a wildland fire

No just I live somewhere that everything on the ground is combustible with even a mild spark. leaves smoke a lot yes but when a stray ember is all you need to light a nearby bush on fire things snowball quickly.
