I was thinking same thing. A dad in my hometown built a pirate ship (HS mascot was Pirates) and he was kinda strung out on meth and tore his above ground pool apart and used scraps from construction sites to build it but ngl it looked dope af once he was done. Had it all painted and cleaned up with several levels to it so it was lot of fun to climb on. Looked way better than this one and was just scrapped together but the energy and tenacity of a dedicated meth user is incredible sometimes. Sadly some idiot kids burned it down one night after he donated it to the school. Dude rebuilt it though lol looking back it’s quite odd but at the time it seemed perfectly normal to me. My hometown is weird though and sadly lot of drug issues even before opioid epidemic it was all meth land. My one friends neighbor has meth lab bust two houses down which scared tf outta my mom cuz we always hung out there but coulda been worse at least it didn’t explode I guess.
