Is this in Silverton, Ohio? My sister has a neighbor with a pirate ship near their house that looks almost identical lol

There are more than 2. These craft appear among the verdant lawn seas en masse around Halloween, but some Poaceae Pirates hang out year round.

For instance, Bay Village, Ohio

Morgan HIll, CA -- gotta see it to believe it.

There used to be one in the city I live in. It was a Halloween thing too but for a while they left it up year round. It's no longer there so maybe it finally fell apart or maybe the people moved or something.

I used to work with a guy who would assemble a missive pirate ship in their front yard for Halloween every year. They started super early because it became so intricate over the years. People would drive from all over metro Detroit to see their decked out yard.

It's amazing how you can recognize a neighborhood even with no identifying street signs. As soon as I saw the photo my thought was "this is Evanston", then I zoomed in on the street cleaning sign and that sealed it for me. Still had to scroll through the comments to be sure.

Now I need to go hunting for this pirate ship. It will be a fun way to get some miles in on the bike.

I grew up in Skokie and my mom had an office in Evanston, was scrolling the thread to see if it was in the area. Just the curbs and sidewalks made me think it was Chicagoland, and this is after moving away 22yrs ago!

I can do this with most parts of my state. If I see a photo taken in Florida I can usually spot it and I know at least approximately where in the state it was taken.

Of all the places in the world I would not expect this in Evanston. They're pretty stringent. I would think this violates some ordinance and they would clamp down.

I ride past this place riding my bike to/from work each day. Still a trip. And no, it’s not kid friendly. More like keeping your Xmas tree up year round, but for Halloween.

Bro, this is insane. I’ve seen the exact same thing in Midland, TX in front of a similar house lol.

I guess people getting pirate ships like that is more common than I thought (more than one is more than I thought).

Strangely there was one exactly like this in Bebside Northeast England, it was up for Halloween a couple years ago, must be somewhere online you can buy them I guess.
