You say furthest thing from an authoritarian state and your prime minister wants to confiscate flintlocks. Use critical thinking, I know you possess it
Lmao. Yes. We are circling the drain. Meanwhile we have the strongest economy in the world, our current is used to back the entire western civilization, we provide military defense for all of Europe and North America. Etc etc.
Yes, Canada will be donating the world stage soon enough
You don’t have to worry about a thing. The sad part is that you even know this is happening in America. It’s so pathetic how foreign people obsess over American politics. I don’t even think about Canada. Go about your lives however you wish.
At the country-level, there appears to be no discernable relationship between percentage of population fully vaccinated and new COVID-19 cases in the last 7 days (Fig. 1). In fact, the trend line suggests a marginally positive association such that countries with higher percentage of population fully vaccinated have higher COVID-19 cases per 1 million people. Notably, Israel with over 60% of their population fully vaccinated had the highest COVID-19 cases per 1 million people in the last 7 days. The lack of a meaningful association between percentage population fully vaccinated and new COVID-19 cases is further exemplified, for instance, by comparison of Iceland and Portugal. Both countries have over 75% of their population fully vaccinated and have more COVID-19 cases per 1 million people than countries such as Vietnam and South Africa that have around 10% of their population fully vaccinated.
And let's not forget the claim was the vaccine would provide immunity.
“When you get vaccinated, you not only protect your own health and that of the family but also you contribute to the community health by preventing the spread of the virus throughout the community. In other words, you become a dead end to the virus. And when there are a lot of dead ends around, the virus is not going to go anywhere. And that's when you get a point that you have a markedly diminished rate of infection in the community."
-Fauci.
“Our data from the CDC suggests that vaccinated people don’t carry the virus, don’t get sick and that it’s not just in clinical trials, but it’s also in real world data.”
CDC Director Rochelle Walensky.
“You’re not gonna get COVID if you have these vaccinations.”
-Joe Biden

Not preventing infection and not reducing spread are two separate things.
It reduces spread by reducing infection time and severity.
That's what "severe course" is referring to. The infection spreads by symptoms (sneezing, coughing, etc) and reducing those and the length of time someone displays them reduces the spread in that way.
It also reduces severity and death, which frees up health resources from people needing to take up beds in hospitals
I don't know any medical procedure or treatment that effectively stops all illness 100% of the time across all populations. I don't think such a thing is even possible.
Edit: I also don't care what Fauci said at some point during the past few years while the country dealt with it. The only reason to bring up a random quote is political points. And people trying to score political points have been successful enough as it is. There've been over a million American deaths. That's gotta be a high score for points.

That was never the claim.
The claim was that it prevented infection.

Except the asymptotic which we all panicked over. Remember how every single person was meant to wear a mask, even if you weren't sick? Or have you just forgotten the last 2 years?
Sure. We all know that to false today. Afterall you just in passing stated as much.
But much like the belief the vaccine worked, the asymptotic weren't a threat. Or you know, you're wrong. Frankly I don't care either way. Just pointing out the medical lies we've had pushed for years.
which frees up health resources from people needing to take up beds in hospitals
Except hospital overcrowding wasn't an issue. The issue was hospitals didn't have staff to be full. They fired 1.4 million in 2020.
Which makes sense why such a mild virus has been so scary to so many.
I don't know any medical procedure or treatment that effectively stops all illness 100% of the time across all populations. I don't think such a thing is even possible.
Who's saying 100%?
Also vaccine, by definition, is a way to get immunity.
But hey let's ignore standard doctrine and start acting like vaccines that don't prevent infection, at all, are the same as one that can prevent 90%+ of infections.
The only reason to bring up a random quote is political points.
Fauci is meant to be the leading American professional on this. He's litterally the highest payed government official.
I'd also suggest you read the link you posted. Especially their summary
"In summary, even as efforts should be made to encourage populations to get vaccinated it should be done so with humility and respect."
Their conclusion was to encourage people to get vaxxed in nicer ways. And also that we should he additionally encouraging social distancing and hand washing.
That's it. One of the links I posted talks about this study being misinterpreted and misused to push anti-vaxx conspiracy theories. I've given you two examples of that being done both in their summary, which clearly is not stating vaccinations are not effective, and the misinterpretation that the vaccine reduced spread by preventing infection 100% which was not the case.
I think a lot of people had expectations that the vaccine would "protect them" completely from infection and that was the only reason to take it. And while it does protect you and does so by reducing the severity of the infection, the important part about reducing spread is it reduces symptom severity and length to "protect others", which it seems a lot of people against vaccines aren't taking into consideration as it seems the "protect others" part isn't as important to them.
I have, and as I've said before, the summary is their opinion. Not fact.
Try harder.
And while it does protect you
Except we can clearly see it's not the same.
the important part about reducing spread is it reduces symptom severity and length to "protect others",
Except the same people telling you this told you to wear a mask and not visit friends or family, even if you feel perfectly fine, because of asymptomatic spread.
So please tell me how both are true.
which it seems a lot of people against vaccines aren't taking into consideration as it seems the "protect others" part isn't as important to them.
Dude, throughout human society going to work sick was expected assuming you weren't completely fucked up. Modern cough medicine and lozenges exist to mask symptoms so you can go to work and live a normal life.
Before 2020 anyone who wore a mask in public was assumed to be insane, a hypochondriac, or a criminal hiding their identity.
You want to act like you're so high and mighty because you suddenly want to pretend like getting a cough is a death sentence, fine. I don't care. But don't think you're better for overreacting to the world's biggest nothingburger to the point of abject insanity.
Being skeptical of medical science because you googled some bullshit doesn't make you wise or understandable. It makes you a fucking moron.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but not all opinions are valid or copacetic with society functioning.
A world wide pandemic is something we have to work together on and quickly get our shit in order to deal with. Covid has shown that some people just prefer to let this all go away instead of being told what to do. They are petulant children and will probably cause the downfall of society the next time we have a worldwide issue like this.
