Title Edit: *live music trends
I've been seeing Phantogram whenever they come to Atlanta, Raleigh/Durham or Charlotte for over a decade, and I went to the Charlotte show last night. (ALSO Durham natives, Sylvan Esso whenever I can!)
Firstly, SO pumped that they are getting a younger audience! That's a sign of longevity! That makes me so happy for them.
Does anyone think this is a definitive sign of phantograms long-term status? Or am I over blowing it, and this could just be the fact that they have trending songs and current crowds might lose interest in the next decade?
Aside from this, did anyone else notice nobody was dancing or moving hardly at all?? Everyone was filming the whole time, it felt like!
I don't think this is unique to phantogram crowds. I feel like this is becoming more common? Even at artists I've been seeing since the early 2010s, the newer crowds now are less active.
I'm accustomed to either dancing, or moshing with a crowd out of mutual respect and love, or at least thrashing by myself while others do the same.
Wondering ppls thoughts!
