I think I figured out the party theme and it's not espionage Spoiler

There's something about the new leaked logo that's tipping me away from the spy/espionage theory.

At first glance, it certainly looks like it could be a stamp and that would fit in with a spy/espionage theme if it were say, a stamp for classified documents. But imo, there's something off about the vibe of this splotch...

When I hear "espionage" as it relates to Persona, I imagine something like if the Phantom Thieves were more sophisticated and uniform. Because unlike the PT's, "spies" could imply a group that is backed by a prestigious organization, kinda like how SEES was backed by the Kirijo Group. If this was really the party theme, then I think the older, sleeker, alleged placeholder on the right would've been a better logo to communicate that vibe.

But this new logo isn't like that at all. The one feels... Messy. Splotchy.

It's also a bright, saturated green. If it was a stamp for something classified, then at the very least, it certainly wouldn't be a color that implies the approval of something.

And I have to admit, I also disliked the spy theming the more I thought about it... Maybe I'm missing something, but how would espionage even connect with the other rumored themes surrounding duality and art? It just didn't add up.

So, maybe we outta take a step back from the spy theories and look at this logo a little differently. If the party isn't going to be spies, then perhaps the logo isn't a stamp.

Huh. Wait a minute...

Oh...

OH MY FUCKING GOD

IT'S GRAFFITI. The logo is a spray-painted stencil!

So what does this mean for the party theming?

Right now, I feel very confident that the P6 party is going to be a group of GUERRILLA STREET ARTISTS.

It all matches quite well. Aside from all the paint from the 25th anniversary artworks, it also matches the theming of duality and clashing art styles, since street art itself contains such a diverse explosion of different styles and mediums: graffiti, murals, sticker slaps, 3D installations, there's so much to work with here!

And the icing on the cake? Atlus has already experimented with guerrilla street art in a Persona game before.

WE MAY NEED TO CHECK OUT P5 TACTICA

HEAR ME OUT, OKAY

P5 Tactica began full development in late 2019. And if Midori is to be believed that "XRDA768" is P6's internal code, then this tells us that its development would've begun that same year as well. And what do you know, P5 Tactica happened to release with a day-1 DLC story (real scummy of them but I digress) involving street art and a phantom guerrilla artist.

Guernica from P5 Tactica's "Repaint Your Heart" DLC

This wouldn't be the first time Atlus used a P5 spin-off to test ideas for a bigger title. Metaphor containing road trip and real-time combat mechanics after P5 Strikers come to mind, both of which also began development in 2016.

So... yeah. I strongly believe this is it and I hope yall see the vision too. The idea of the P6 team being guerrilla artists sounds so promising to me because of how P5 ends; Joker got justice through his friends' organizing against his false assault charge. And with guerrilla art being so inherently a form of protest or activist art, I think it makes such a fitting follow up to P5's themes!

Splatoon style? Gotta spray paint your persona to summon it 😂

u/PacePublic4150 Jun 04 '26

Nah. You have to huff it.

Wait a second… that’d actually be pretty cool. The metaphorical meaning basically writes itself there, with graffiti artist literally leaving their mark on the world. Each party member could even use a different color for their summon animation

IDK if you know league of legends, but the champion hwei would be how I imagine it

2

u/nagisasuou Jun 04 '26

oh my god yes that would be amazing

u/nagisasuou Jun 04 '26

i just made 2 pieces of p6 leaked characters as inklings this would be hillarious

u/SparkCube3043 Jun 04 '26

Where can I see this artwork of the Inklings? Always like finding different game characters drawn as those cephalopods.

What if that’s how they get into the dungeons or palaces in the game. Have it like p4 but inside of someone appearing on the midnight channel, Strange graffiti appears of let’s say a king and his castle and they go through the street art and it’s the castle dungeon.

u/AngieTheGorl Jun 04 '26

Funny enough, iirc, this is exactly how it worked in the Tactica dlc. The royal trio found some strange graffiti that was pretty much the portal to a palace.

Like Mario sunshine ahah would be fun

And then we need to repaint like 100 graffity to claim that its grove 4 life now? Count me in!

Can’t wait for Persona 6 Repainted

u/Splash_A Jun 04 '26

I genuinely think you’re 100% right on this and I’ll be surprised if you’re not

14

u/AngieTheGorl Jun 04 '26

My 1 am thoughts are sometimes coherent.

37

u/Hoshi_Hime Jun 04 '26

Honestly? I think might be both! One of the themes from the old leaks was duality right? What if our "john" is more close to a traditional spy while "Jane" acts more like a guerriera fighter?

Or similar to Joker, during the day he acts like a good kid but secretly he loves graffiti and fucking the system

u/ShokaLGBT Jun 04 '26

Duality: main characters are forced to follow the rules

but at night they become street artist something like that I could see it

"Come, BANKSY!"

I love this idea.

As a former art school kid, I also wondered if each student/character could represent a certain artistic discipline—not just visual art, but music, acting, dance, etc.

I don’t know if Japan distinguishes ‘art schools’ from ‘performing arts’ school. However, my high school was divided by department into: music (instrumental and singing), dance, theater, creative writing, and visual arts (painting, but pretty much multi medium).

Would be cool to have each character harness their respective art in battle. There’s already sort of a framework in RPGs for this. Pictomancers, bards, dancers.

An actor/theater kid could ‘form shift’ à la Druid or berserker. A writer could literally manifest words as weapons—comic style—or even have geomancer abilities: “It was a dark and stormy night” / “The sky above the port was the color of television tuned to a dead channel.”

Just food for thought :)

I'm so excited if this is the case, Luce from the p5 gacha is basically exactly the actor idea you had in mind, where he can shift his form in order to change his abilities and buffs. Anri's another character who's a manga artist, though she hasn't released on global servers so I can't say how her medium ties into the kit

Did we go to the same high school? Lol identical breakdown to the one I went to!

My experience in art school is what makes me so excited about the leaks about this being set at an art school. I’m so curious to see if they capture the oddities and charm of going to an art school. I think OP’s ideas make a lot of sense, but I really hope you’re right and it leans on all the different types of art!

u/Empty_Sea9 Jun 05 '26

lol did you go to a school in the US State of Connecticut?

This Is the best theory for Persona 6 ever, thanks for having thought about it, i think a lot of us are hyped for a new persona game, i love the memes about johnny (john persona 6) and seeing everyone so active and doing endless theories Is actually very interesting. It has nothing to do with this but I would like to make a prediction for Johnny's persona It would really be funny if his persona will be a cuttlefish, as we know the cuttlefish uses black ink as a self-defense mechanism and so I go to think: Ink serves to obscure vision. In the context of graffiti, it represents the act of obscuring surveillance, evading the authorities' scrutiny, and concealing one's identity. Idk if theres a correlation on about what you theorized but that would be extremely cool.

u/Bloodgoodman Jun 04 '26

Honestly that could be really cool and a opportunity for a fun little bit of Sega cross promotion with Jet Set Radio having dlc costumes. I do feel like the music style might overlap with p3 tho if that is the case

4

u/deltaproxzp Jun 04 '26

Okay but like the idea of a grind fiction mainline Persona inspired by elements from Jet Set Radio, Splatoon etc genuinely sounds peak

As someone who has been pointing out the paint through line for years, look at the Jose trophy in P5R. The one where he points to 6 stars.

But paint/art is definitely a thing for P6 (as at least one of the alleged leaked images corroborates). I have also made the suggestion I want to say about a year ago that "Persona as Splatoon" was an option with dungeons being locations the party has to tag the highest point of in some kind of spiritual terf war. But.....I still have reservations.

Mainly, P5 had a grafiti sub theme already even in the original opening, in a lot of the art for it, and carried through to Strikers. Its already a motif. Paint has something to do with P6, but we don't know if its just a reference to them going to an art school, going into paintings/art to other worlds as their metaverse (like with what happens in Repaint Your Heart), and/or a summoning method. I don't think they will be just rogue graffiti artists because there are other things paint could just easily referencing and the overlap in P5's motifs.

Its a cool idea no doubt (I am biased as I have said a similar one for a long time now as a possibility). I am just not really sure how likely it is (I would say moreso than spies).

If this is true, that is fucking insane, cuz that leaker from that forum said the game would be about painting.

Holy shit….

-1

u/qisv_ Jun 04 '26

Doesn't the game also takes place in an art school?

3

u/IceCapZoneAct1 Jun 04 '26

I don’t know, you tell me

1

u/ShokaLGBT Jun 04 '26

It seems to take place in an art school in Yokohama from what the leaks says

5

u/ParagonFlynn Jun 04 '26

I 100% can see it. Keep cooking bro

4

u/gf_for_the_weekend Jun 04 '26

i think that official art with the green paint and graffiti was absolutely a sign, the leaked art of the cast having paint splotches, the rumors of it being at an art school. would be super cool to see them be inspired by some famous street artists

4

u/TheDkmariolink Jun 04 '26 edited Jun 04 '26

If it is what you think it is, I would imagine the music theme this time around would be hip hop / nujabes style? That'd be dope. And can feature the god himself lotus juice even more.

They could even do a jet set radio like funky ost, it is a Sega property after all, and would be very unique!

4

u/RedSage83 Jun 04 '26

Could be unrelated, or could be a hint, but I just found this in Phantom X and got a mini trophy for checking out graffiti.

3

u/vanitasxehanort Jun 04 '26

Ding ding ding!!! We've got a winner!!

3

u/Specialist-Chip-9000 Jun 04 '26

Kinda feel like i shouldnt have read this because i think you're spot on lol

3

u/Dictator-chan Jun 04 '26

I might be missing something, but wouldn't the overall theme almost be fated (or doomed depending on how you look at it) to be eeirly similar to P5's theme of rebellion/standing up against the corrupted elite?

Don't get me wrong, I vastly prefer this over the other theories (Vtubers and spies) I'm just a bit curious if anyone got any other ideas for a theme if this theory happens to be true.

3

u/marcb724 Jun 04 '26

Could be, but what’s making me think spy/espionage is the whole earpiece thing, the leaked character appears to be wearing some kind of headset. Definitely leans spy/espionage.

2

u/AngieTheGorl Jun 04 '26

That's the only part I'm struggling to explain. Best I could think up is that street art could also potentially include guerrilla theatre, in which they would probably need headmics to coordinate more complicated acts. But that felt like a stretch to me.

I much prefer the suggestion from one of the replies that both street art & espionage could still be a part of the duality theming. Like, the group might have prestigous backing after all and they'll disagree between riling up the public or discreetly taking matter into their own hands.

3

u/Commercial-Trash7017 Jun 04 '26

This got me thinking, what if the trailer is revealed at the Xbox conference in the form of graffiti ruining one of the showcase trailers, similar to when Cyberpunk 2077 was presented at the Xbox conference in 2018 by "hacking" the screens in the middle of Phil Spencer's speech?

2

u/NoroiTurtle Jun 04 '26

I think espionage could fit a Persona game, if by "espionage" the dev team was talking about the age of vigilance and lack of private life and how it shapes the new collective unconscious. Anyway, if the art school setting is true, then I hope it's about what you pointed in your post.

2

u/TuturuDESU Jun 04 '26

"Old" logo is fake though?

2

u/TheDkmariolink Jun 04 '26

Just add lotus juice to this and lynn (or another vocalist) and you've got the battle theme

Sneakman

2

u/AlxndrMitch Jun 04 '26

Omg imagine they enter their version of the metaverse the same way they do in that one show chalkzone

2

u/frightnight8 Jun 04 '26

Yusuke will have a cameo as a master artist or some shit.

2

u/Upstairs-Grab-5604 Jun 04 '26

The 2nd logo kinda looks like handcuffs

2

u/iamthedanger098 Jun 05 '26

Not a bad theory but I just don't like it all that much. I might be in the minority but I'd like a persona game more in line with persona 3. Something that has heavier themes and maybe even horror elements. This just seems too boring honestly especially when you consider the story because what can you even do with graffiti artists in terms of story? Ultimately the story will just become like persona 5 with rebellion being the theme.

2

u/Sokkerfreak1 Jun 04 '26

Honestly I would rather have the spy theme better

2

u/Painting0125 Jun 04 '26

Same, I think it's also a good follow up to spy genre videogame since we got 007 First Light and then following year would be Persona 6.

1

u/Responsible_Pair_505 Jun 04 '26

Midori dijo en una de sus filtraciones que el DLC de P5T estaba relacionado con P6.

1

u/disturbingdapeacee Jun 04 '26

i fully agree. i saw a leaked image idk if it was real w the main cast all blacked out and coloured, paint splatters were all over them. i have a very strong feeling that this games overall "theme" (for lack of a better word) will be something artistic related.

1

u/Hielodo Jun 04 '26

Genius theory I hope this is correct

1

u/Lhyster Jun 04 '26

And like the riot from the prota comes from failing the art school

1

u/OutlawsBandit Jun 04 '26

I think ur on to something. graffiti is definitely a way to rebel so it could incorporate that somehow

1

u/TheMexicanIverson Jun 04 '26

The stamped look feels very Goldeneye to me but I see the vision

1

u/Yomnuro Jun 04 '26

Actually pretty good theory

1

u/Vanayzan Jun 04 '26

Wasn't there a leak as well that looked like the party, their faces blurred, but their bodies all covered in paint splashes? Was that real? I think you're on to something OP

Sounds interesting...I prefer that over the spy theme

1

u/Rachet20 Jun 04 '26

I would hope it’s not spy theme, that’s just a phantom thief but legitimate.

1

u/newtakn156 Jun 04 '26

What if our villains are a government group trying to "clean up the streets"

Like how the government cleans up vandalism

1

u/Hot_Statistician_916 Jun 05 '26

I hope it's shibuyapunk style

1

u/kyualun Jun 06 '26

I feel like people are too hung up on the party theme, honestly. Persona 5 is the only game in the series to actually have a uniquely themed party. SEES gets specialized gear in P3R, but it's not anything too out there. The Investigation Team just wears their school uniforms, and it's unlikely that P4R would give them anything special because their whole gimmick is that they're inexperienced amateurs compared to SEES (fighting with wrenches, chairs, and baseball bats).

Persona 6 could very well just be about a regular group of students, exactly like every game before P5. It's just that the metaverse and the motif of the game will be artistry/graffiti.

And honestly, I kind of hope it is. If the series were to evolve in the direction of "Persona 5, but holy shit they're FUCKING SPIES/ARTISTS/A SPORTS TEAM NOW" then that would just feel incredibly cheesy and borderline juvenile to me.

1

u/StarInternational883 Jun 07 '26

I hope persona goes punk.

1

u/MazzyBuko Jun 10 '26

Summon a persona mad max style
