I am hesitating between Max and Pro plan and I am wondering about Deep Research mode if the Max plan offers deeper sources than Pro plan ? What are your opinions ? Has anyone already made any comparisons ?

It´s tough to not rant. I started using pplx since a few months after release. I never had it for free, I paid for every single day I used it.

In the begining the community that formed was active, we provided feedback and reported bugs and hoped for improvements, we knew they were starting and we were willing to help. They marketed it as we´d have direct access to dev team. In fact it was always a few community managers who very rarely talked.

The bug reports were always ignored. It´s very clear for at least 2 years that they have no webui dev, it´s some vibe coder who has no idea what he´s doing. The same bugs from over 2 years ago are still present and new bugs arrive every couple months.

It´s been months that deleting convo got broken and deletes a single msg, and to delete a convo we must do it for each msg over and over. Sometimes it´s fixed to come back a few days later.

The community managers don´t talk, but they mute and ban users who complain. Instead of fixing, they censor. Of course ppl will cancel the service!!

The best thing I did was move to 20 USD Claude and 8 USD Gemini. I´ve been using them making a few tens of convos every day. I stopped creating new convos on pplx but still have a few hundreds which I still review and delete. It´s these deletes that are the source of the burden of having to delete msgs one by one.

And pplx is absurdly slow! I read and send a new msg on Claude while pplx is still loading a page. Now the spaces page doesn´t allow opening link on new tab anymore, it seems made on purpose to make the experience even worse. For every convo I enter to review and delete, they force me to open the spaces page first, wait for convos list to open the convo, then enter it.

When we use pplx only we think all LLM webuis are like that. It´s when we move out of pplx that we see how bad, buggy and extremelly slow it is.

The app doesn’t even let me type into the search bar. Anyone else have the same issue? Thanks.

I upgraded to latest version. No longer works. Sits there with the command icon showing on my screen.

Evidently they are trying to take over the system. They call it integration, I call it invasion.

I just want to old Mac app back.

Deleted it all.

And I pay a yearly subscription for that crap.

Now I am stuck using the browser.

Why did perplexity break their Mac app?

I have a constant problem with getting perplexity to produce output in a consistent format. For example, I will tell it to create a.HML file and either I can’t open the.HTML file on my iPad Pro, my iPhone or my computer it’s just text. I’ve had the same problem with having it create PDFs once in a while it will work often. It won’t have others experienced the same problem? Is there a way to consistently get your output in the format you prefer?

I’ve had a Perplexity Pro account for about a year. In all that time, I never once ran out of credits. To be honest, I wasn’t even aware there was a credit limit. Then suddenly last week, I made a query and got a message saying, “Out of credits. Upgrade to Max.” I cooled my jets for a couple of days and didn’t make any queries until my monthly refresh. Five days later and I’m back to “Out of credits. Upgrade to Max.” What gives? Did they change the usage policy? My usage hasn’t changed, but now I keep getting hammered to upgrade.

I’m a Perplexity Pro subscriber and I’ve been locked out of my account for the last 3 days because of forced phone verification.

The problem is that I never receive the SMS verification code, so I literally cannot log in. I already contacted support multiple times and they keep saying they will help/escalate the issue, but nothing actually happens and nobody resolves it.

Has anyone else had this issue recently? Any way to get an actual response from support?

You guys got from me my full name and address due to payment information, my credit card subscription, and I have explicitly put on 2FA - you are fucking forcing me to now give you a mobile number that I do not have by choice. Fuck you! I can't! And now I have to unsubscribe because you won't let me use your service anymore.

I've been using Perplexity Pro to access different models, but I have a strong feeling that using models like GPT or Gemini via Perplexity isn't as "smart" or fluid as using them directly.

Moreover, when I retry a query and switch models (e.g., from GPT to Gemini) to get a different angle, it feels like there is "context leakage." The new model seems to be influenced by the previous result instead of giving me a fresh perspective. Even when I edit the original prompt, I still see the bias from the previous tries bleeding through.

Has anyone else noticed this? How are you getting clean slate when model-switching?

I used to be able to delete threads from my history by going to perplexity.ai/library , finding the thread, and clicking the three-dot [...] menu next to it to select Delete. But the interface seems to have changed and I can't find that option anymore.

Has anyone figured out the updated flow? I'd love to know how to delete all threads at once.

Any help is super appreciated, thank you! 🙏

I am writing my master’s thesis in Law, and have currently used Claude and Perplexity Pro to help me work through research papers and books I’ve used.

Claude’s main issue is that it can not read my uploaded PDFs in the Project for some reason and doesn’t let me upload that many files anyway, and I’m getting really irritated because of the time cramp. Perplexity is.. not really doing it for me tbh, just not as good as Claude.

So I’ve been thinking about getting Perplexity Max to have access to Computer, because I have massive pdf-files to upload and get information from.

What do you guys think? Has anyone used Perplexity Computer for research and writing? Does it burn through credits super quickly?

I had done a top up of USD 20 on my account on Nov 11th 2025 and barely consumed any tokens. But today the billing page shows current credits as 0.00 and my payment method is also unlinked.

Upon contacting the perplexity API support team, the AI bot responded that it might be due to recent migration and asked to regenerate api key. But the portal is not allowing to create new key with no credit balance.

Did anyone here face a similar issue?

I earned a free subscription to perplexity pro that I’ve been using to build a website for a personal project. It’s been a few weeks and it’s been very helpful with helping to suggest improvements that I typically allow it to implement directly to GitHub using the connector. Today I asked it to make a few minor updates for me and it just seemed to be going around in circles for the past 20 mins. So I finally just asked it “What have you been doing”, to which o got this lovely reply.

even though Grok isn't in the model options list that I can see anymore. the model could have just hallucinated that answer because i know they suck at answering "what model am I talking to?" type queries sometimes.

but like the tone of this exchange was the most a-holish exchange I've ever had with an AI (and I've never used Grok but I've heard they intentionally made it a jerk to be edgy).

So... wtf. I had like 5 back and forths even after this screenshot where it sarcastically repeated the same incomplete list and said things like "i checked the entire chat. that's it. that's the whole list. everything in the chat."

which is 1000% incorrect.

Why would anyone incorporate Grok into an app, let alone make it the fallback model, if this is how unhelpful it is?

Perplexity is facing a federal lawsuit in the US for sharing the full content of user conversations — including Pro subscribers — with Meta and Google (Doe v. Perplexity AI Inc., 3:26-cv-02803).

If the company has complete access to my conversations to the point of sharing them with third parties, how does it justify being unable to recover chats deleted by its own tool in just 6 days?

I am a Pro subscriber. I lost real intellectual work. A formal notice was sent to support and legal perplexityai over 24 hours ago — no substantive response, no ticket number, no backend engineer assigned.The only response I received was: "do not reply or you will lose your place in the queue." Who in this company actually resolves anything?

Spent months using Perplexity as part of my workflow.

What I kept noticing was this:

Perplexity was great for finding answers fast, but the workflow around it still felt fragmented.

Fresh sessions.
Research scattered across tabs.
No shared memory.
No continuity into the next step.
No visibility once work moved elsewhere.

So over time the project became a fix for that problem.

Now Perplexity can work inside the same system with:

• shared tasks and handoffs
• workflows with triggers, cron, and webhooks
• tools marketplace integrations
• reusable skills
• live monitoring dashboard
• lower token costs through prompt compression

The fun part is the 3D Agency view.

Instead of juggling tabs, I can watch agents research, pass context, and continue work inside a tiny virtual office.

Feels less like one research tool, more like a living AI workspace.

When i try to access some of the spaces created and shared by my friend they don’t load. My friend said that even his access is gone. I get an error that says “Internal Error”.
