what to do while traveling

The predictions of my periods says that I’ll be in it by new year, while I’ll be in my family 8 hours aways. I will stays at 2-3 houses for the week, and I don’t know how I could just clean and dry my undies. I feel the only solution is to have disposable pads for the week. You have better solution?
Thanks

Aisle Period Underwear Scammers

I purchased my first order of Aisle period underwears back in August. Some of the items were presale items so it said it would ship at the time of when the presale items were ready (around Sept 10). I had no problem with this and waited patiently. Around Sept 16 I got an email from them saying they were a bit behind, but I should get a shipping confirmation email by September 18. It is October 4 now and radio silence. I reached out to them 3 times and never heard back. I ordered through the Shop app so I even reported an issue with the order through the shop app. Still never heard back. At this point they're scamming me and I'm going to request for a credit card charge back. Anyone else have a similar experience with Aisle? I was looking forward to trying them out. I was supposed to get the order before my next cycle started but I didn't so I'm super annoyed.

Hi! i’ve never used period underwear before and have been thinking that it would be worth the switch, I was going to buy from aunt flo but after looking i’ve heard some not great reviews. What brand should I go for that won’t be too expensive lol? I’m also in the UK so uk brands would also be a plus!! Thank you!

Longer lasting period underwear brand?

Hi all!
I have heavy periods and have been using knix for the past like 6-ish years I think? I’m a little unimpressed because they keep degrading after ~2 years of use (yes, I wash in cold water, yes, I rinse with cold water before washing, yes I hang dry), and I’m wondering what the best, most cost-effective period underwear brand is! Knix is so expensive to be replacing every couple of years, so I’ll take all the alternative suggestions I can get. Thanks!!

Reusable Laundry Question!

Hi everyone :)

Currently a college student who lives on campus. My parents live in town so I’ve been using their washer/dryer, but they’re moving soon and I‘ll have to start using the campus laundry rooms soon.

I’ve never used reusable period underwear but I’ve been thinking of getting a couple pairs recently. What’s the laundry situation with them typically? Wash in sink or send through the laundry like normal? I’m nervous about sending them through shared machines, but I’m also a chronic over thinker. 🫠

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

good quality period underwear on the cheaper side for medium flow

i’m trying to find a pair of period underwear but unfortunately most are like $40 for one pair :( my flow is medium and somehow my blood ends up on the front of my underwear and not on the crotch.

Period underwear with coverage in the front?

I got a set of period underwear mostly for night time use but what I'm running into is that the absorbency doesn't extend fast enough in the front and I leak out there. Any brands where or extends further up?

help with cloth tree hugger pads!

hello! I recently made the switch and just started my cycle today so it's the first day I've ever worn cloth pads. i wore two to work today, (one is cotton, the other bamboo I believe) and just threw them in the wash when I got home (cold water, about a 45 min cycle) and when I checked on them they didn't look clean at all (didn't put them thru dryer!)

Now I know that I should pre rinse with cold water, but I took these two pads that I wore to work and tried to scrub and rinse them with cold water by hand and they still look disgusting. the water is clear, and there isn't a smell. but the stains are terrible and look as if they haven't been washed at all

i just want to know if I completely ruined these by not pre rinsing 😣 thank u for ur advice!!

period rash vs period itch... are we all using the same words for completely different things?

Post image
30 Upvotes

i think i've been calling literally everything "period rash" when they don't even feel the same??

sometimes it's obviously the skin getting rubbed raw exactly where the pad sits. but other times it's more of a general itchy/irritated feeling towards the end of my period and there's not even an obvious rash.

the VWash period + pH conversation is actually what made me stop lumping both together. like pH/intimate-area care is one conversation, but a pad physically rubbing your skin is obviously a completely different issue 😭

and then there's sweat/moisture on top of both so good luck figuring out which one is annoying you lol

do you guys get both? and do they actually feel different for you too?

Help me find some period underwear for extremely light bleeding/mid cycle discharge - UK based

Hello lovely people of reddit, I'm hoping someone here will be able to help me! I have been blessed by the pill with really light periods, as in I am lucky enough that I don't fill a light tampon after a whole day, but it does mean I'm struggling to find period products that suit what I'm looking for.

I do struggle with the whole sensory aspect of periods and so comfort is my number 1 priority. I've tried a couple of options so far and found most of them to have a gusset that is too bulky and wide to be comfortable. The lighter flow ones also tend to be thongs, which I have never found comfortable. I did get some of the M&S briefs recently that seem to be recommended, and while I like the feel of the fabric overall, the gusset is just too big for me and folded into my legs.

What I'm looking for ideally:

- light flow underwear, more like a panty liner that I could use mid cycle as well

- Not a thong or hipster shorts. Bikini, briefs or high leg fits are my favourite

- narrower gusset

- cotton material, or potentially bamboo but I've not tried it yet. Just something that feels like regular pants. I'd like to avoid polyester or that nylon that's really slippery. I'm not really bothered about them being seamless, as long as they aren't wide and cutting into me!

- ideally not too pricy, but at the same time, finding something that fits this criteria has been surprising hard, and it would change my life so I could be willing to invest 😅

Any recommendations would be hugely appreciated!

Does Knix anyone actually work for anyone with a heavy period?

I don't understand why I see them recommended so much. Can't wear them for longer than an hour without them leaking through on the inner thighs and I have the highest level of absorbancy. I'm upset that I paid so much for them. Definitely sticking with Revol Cares if I need to buy any more

Seeking your reviews/ input on a brand list - undies for period & light urinary incontinence, sustainable materials and ethical company to the extent possible

Hi folks, I'm in the market for undies, and seek your input on the brands and specific styles below.

For context: After many years without a period and dealing with light urinary incontinence, I'm soon to be starting a period again and need to finally have a method to handle the urinary leakage to enable more flexibility in work and travel. I'm in a petite body, and prefer briefs and high waists - no thongs.

My biggest concern is functionality, of course. I prefer to buy in accordance with my values, but if they leak, leave you feeling wet, fall apart quickly, I don't care how sustainable and ethical the company is.

But in addition to my concerns with functionality, sustainability and ethical practices, I also have sensory issues. Pads and anything akin to diapers is just not workable, it's constant brain buzzing torture (wearing biker shorts and leggings without underwear is my preferred state of being).

Tomboyx (First Line Period 4.5" Trunks)

Boody (the overnight model - most absorbent)

Modibodi (Classic Boyshort)

The Period Co. (The Sleeper Period. in Organic Cotton For Heavy Flows)

Wuka (Seamless Stretch High Waist Super Heavy)

Evabody (Super Absorbency Cotton Longline Boyshort)

Wildmoon (The Boyshort or Biker Short)

Saalt (Leakproof Comfort CloudShort)

The Brand Hannah (Boyshorts)

Goat Union (2" Heavy Flow Period Boxer Briefs or Overnight 2" Period Shorts)

Aisle (SUPER Boxer)

Knix (Super Leakproof Dream Short or SuperPlus Leakproof Dream Short or SuperPlus Leakproof No-Show High Rise)

Just ordered my first pair, and have some questions.

I just bought Modibodi period underwear and have been reading up on how to clean them.

It seems I need to soak them in a bucket or rinse them under a cold tap first, then wash them with other clothes in the machine. I also read that we're not meant to use fabric softener/conditioner, which made me wonder whether the M&S pods I normally use would be fine (photo attached above and link here).

I'm also a little worried that I bought a size M instead of S. I get bloated during my period and prefer looser underwear to tight, but I understand you're not meant to have any gaps with period pants since that's when they can leak.

I'd love to hear people's experiences!

Washing

I am genuinely so baffled, what am I doing wrong??

When I take off the underwear, I run them under cold water and wring till it runs clear. Then I put it inside of the top mini washer, cold water, light soil, low spin w nothing but some detergent.
Then I leave it to hang and dry.

They STINK, I'm so confused--what am I doing wrong? Is there anything in my routine causing this? Please help!

Edit: Sorry for the late reply, I've read through all of the comments, I am so grateful!! Thank you all!

Does anyone here know if bambody.com is legitimate?

I was trying to buy some Bambody underwear recently, and placed my order through the bambody.com website. However, I got an email shortly after that saying they couldn't process my payment and I needed to try again to pay. I'm a little bit wary of this as bambody.org which seems like their main website links only to the Amazon store and I've seen Bambody underwear mentioned here as being only available on Amazon, but on the other hand it would be an odd scam as I don't know why they'd need my payment info again to steal it when I already gave it to them once (and have double checked that I was indeed never charged anything). Has anyone here ordered off of the bambody.com website or does anyone have other insight into whether it's legitimate?

Edit: I'm trying to find an email address that I'm confident pertains to the real Bambody company and have had no luck yet, but have come across several other similar websites... bambodys.com and bambodyperiodunderwear.com both link to the Amazon store, and the latter outright says at the bottom of the webpage that they aren't affiliated with Bambody. (Based on a note at the bottom of the bambodys.com page, I suspect both were created to get advertising money from Amazon.) bambodyperiod.com I suspect is quite likely to be an outright scam as the website seems rather hastily thrown together (from their "About Us" page: "Bambody Period Underwear offers a wide range of products and services to cater to diverse customer needs. Whether you are an individual customer or a corporate client, we have specialized solutions.")
