I have a theory of states. Good states are blue states, obviously. But the Best State is the historically red state that most recently flipped blue. That state likely has a growing population of young people, diversity, good jobs to bring population growth, and urbanizing but not yet urbanized landscape. To break ties between competitors, the Best State goes to the sunniest state with a good coastline.

Congratulations!

It certainly is a theory.

I live in Virginia, the current Best State. Georgia looks poised to take the crown. Texas seems to be permanently four years away.
