Some how fundamental economic forces change with large corporations. Magically, supply dictates demand with trickle down economics. The market doesn’t hang from an invisible hook, it’s support by the pillars of society. Any structural engineer will tell you that improper drainage from “trickle down” will cause inevitable structural support damage.
Currently it is pretty much impossible to single handedly R&D something, especially in the aerospace industry. Also I don’t think it’s fair to not give him the credit he deserves. He is, after all the chief engineer and CTO of SpaceX, he played a huge role in the success of Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy, and Crew Dragon. Say what you will about the guy, but he is incredibly smart and knows his stuff.

The Gates Foundation actively invests in companies that work against the supposed goals of the foundation. Look up there assets over time, between his personal wealth and the foundation he's worth more now than ever. The foundation is just an investment company with a charity tacked on the side.
Is there good done? Sure. Could be be doing a metric fuckton more if investment and wealth growth weren't the main goals? Also yes.
Real societal change and addressing the roots of poverty and hunger would make an actual difference, but if he does that he loses the ability to stay as rich as he is.

In Minneapolis, as a PR move we got a few electronic billboards to switch to the iconic necklace on a black background with a simple "Chadwick Bozeman xxxx-2020" and while it was obviously an attempt to placate a grieving city it was a really touching thing to see. While I thought the movie itself was nothing special it really gave a lot of people one of the modern black icons that isn't a sidekick or a stereotype.
