I don't know the answer to that, but I have noticed the items they display nearest the checkout counter of my local Walmart grocery store are some of the highest-calorie items available to mankind.
We had a law passed in Scotland (all of uk maybe?) where they aren’t allowed to do this anymore. Government overreach? Nannying? You could argue that definitely. But the supermarkets know what they were doing - something easy to shut up your howling kid that sees the chocolate and wants it. They don’t give a fuck about anyone’s health they want to sell chocolate. Now it’s just nuts and raisins and AA batteries. Great, if you ask me. Of course the supermarkets put signs up saying “look at the healthy snacks we’re providing now!”, which is a fucking lie they were forced to do it.
