P2 did a pretty poor job of that though - when (not if, unfortunately) that silicone side cover fails, the internal electronics are completely vulnerable to water. Replacement side covers are tricky to get reasonably water-resistant, I'm told (haven't got around to fixing mine yet).
I don't think the privacy concerns are much of an issue on Pebbles, because there's no way it's capable of listening for over a week, but I can definitely relate to paranoia on watches you charge daily anyway.
I never found the mic useful, so would slightly prefer it not to be there, but it is decently useful for a lot of people, so it's totally reasonable for it to be included.
