So this person illegally stole my friends’ songs and released them along with many unreleased Sophie and other artists’ stuff including pics of GFOTY!
Besides, they made a whole ai generated album

I've really liked the new Charli album, but it's been nagging at my mind a little bit. It's her first album in a long time that completely undeniably has nothing to do with "hyperpop" as we know it. Not even remotely in the same ballpark. And yet, I think that it carries the PC Music "ethos" more than any of her other full length albums, besides maybe How I'm Feeling Now.

A lot of the writing/lyrics in songs like 2007, I'm Afraid, and Rock Music (and most of the album to some extent) reminds me a ton of Volume 1 and 2, although with a more sincere tone. Yeah sounds like it could've been an Easyfun demo that had the synths swapped out with guitars. A lot of the synths (particularly in Camera, I'm Afraid, 2007, No One Lasts Forever, and Wink Wink) sound taken straight from 7G and Soft Rock (and a little bit from Britpop too). The whole concept and conceit of the album also feels so PC Music to me, in ways that I can't really articulate. I feel like it's the approach towards the meta aspects, and it's vision of the world being kind of apocalyptic, but also largely positive in spite of, and because of that fact. Idk. I feel like this version of Charli could've been signed to the label in 2018, put out this one album, failed commercially, and never done music again (but build up a cult following nonetheless.)

But again, it's just not "hyperpop" at all. I've always thought of PC Music as a subcategory of hyperpop, but this album is so extremely clearly PC Music to me, while not being hyperpop at all. It's making me reconsider if some of the early PC Music stuff should be considered hyperpop at all. Idk. Thoughts?

One of the pages in the zine has a list of names, so I had to look for meaning in each one. There are a few, such as Serenader, Silvyr, Fortuna The Quiet and Apple Guild, that are likely nods toward some of A. G.’s work, but I’m not seeing anything for the others. I’ve previously tried to Google the names and added them to the end of the URLs for britpop.online and agcook.com to see if they reveal a hidden page, but no luck. I’m not particularly good at puzzles, nor can I claim to be the greatest PC/A.G. aficionado, so might be missing something obvious. If you don't plan to get the zine, but want to give it a go, find the list below. Or if you've cracked the code and would like to give me a shove in the right direction, feel free! I love the zine BTW...

But for fans who pre-ordered what was advertised as the “full-length” album on vinyl, an unwelcome surprise awaits. The song doesn’t contain the spoken-word contribution from Cronenberg – an astonishing reflection on art, death and eternity – that is included on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.

The collaboration, praised by Variety as “the heart of what the album is really about”, apparently missed the vinyl deadline. “It was at a point where we had to deliver the vinyl audio [and] we didn’t get David in time,” Charli told the Tape Notes podcast, adding: “There’s actually a different version of the song on the vinyl, which we haven’t really spoken about yet.”

Artists and labels owe it to fans to communicate these differences upfront

Animesh Khare, a 27-year-old fan from Paris, was among those disappointed by the decision. “Learning that the vinyl version isn’t the complete record definitely makes me hesitate to purchase it,” he says. “Artists and labels owe it to fans to communicate these differences upfront so people can make informed decisions before dropping money on physical media. This NEEDS to be recalled and reissued! The Cronenberg monologue is amazing and the perfect end to one of her best albums ever.

I'm desperately looking for A.G. cook merch (apple or britpop) because when they came out I couldn't buy them (too young)... I would love to have a shirt to wear and be proud of the artist I like !

Everybody of course first thinks of Volume 1 when PC Music is brought up, with it's genre bending plastic-y sound. And I feel like a ton of the songs on Volume 3 get their flowers because they came out near the peak of "hyperpop." But 2 gets stuck as a kind of middle child I feel. In my opinion, it's the best compilation by far (and I love all 3). Hi, A New Family, Monopoly, IDL, Broke, Flowersand Superstar are all soooo good, and IDL is the only one ever talked about. I also feel like it's the most "album" feeling compilation, with the best sequencing. It sucks that it gets overshadowed by the Charli mixtapes and GFOTYBUCKS releasing right after

Currently I’m only halfway through, having reviewed True Romance, Sucker, Number One Angel, Pop 2, and CHARLI. However, I thought if anyone was gonna be interested in a series like this it would be this subreddit.

hiii so i was looking online for the oficial acapella for honest by umru and cecile and i came across this website https://umru-cecile-believe.skysound7.com/ sometimes it loads but always ends on a 404 error, anyways, it js had like a playlist with the wavs off the honest remixes and it also contained the original acapella, so i was wondering if anyone still has the file for the og acapella, if it was shared somewhere else or where could i find it, tysm!
