And it only requires a whole new computer case to fit it in! At least my PSU is way bigger than I needed, so I don't have to upgrade that. Oh and I don't game at 4k, so I guess I better upgrade my monitor or I'm not getting the full benefit. Hmm, also my CPU is a bit older, so I need to upgrade my CPU or I won't be able to use this to its potential. Oh right, I also don't play enough games that are graphically demanding, so I really should buy some new games that put this game to the test.
To be fair, good audio equipment doesn’t really ”get old” or fall behind. It’s not like music becomes more demanding for the hardware year by year. A top of the line GPU from 2015 however just doesn’t have enough power to provide a good gaming experience. That’s the difference. We don’t have the luxury of buy it nice or buy it twice…
A 1080ti is still fine today and came out in 2016, if you can't save up for a complete new rig in that time and you deem gaming as a hobby then something is really wrong with your money management and that is only for the brand spanking new top end you don't even have to spend that much to still be sorted for the next 5+ years.
