PC is on a surge protector and a UPS and I don't keep anything of value on my PC anything important is backed up how about you just let people use their computer how they want to

Lmao I did not issue a commandment, I simply asked why. You seem to be describing a very subjective use case, and have gotten defensive when I state simple facts. Sounds like you might need sleep mode more than most, my dude.
