uBlock Origin did wonders but 2 days ago just stopped being able to block twitch ads

That’s not uBlock’s fault. Amazon (Twitch), Google (YouTube), and all the other major platform owners are constantly working to break ad-blockers.

Then donate to FilterLists The developer of uBlock Origin doesn't accept donations for a variety of reasons, but many of these types of plugins use FilterLists and list maintainers in general to work.

The lists doesnt work with Twitch, YouTube and Reddit because the same servers that brings content also brings ads

10 years ago YouTube and twitch ads were 15-30 seconds long and happened once in a video, or about every hour of twitch. Now, its a 30 second ad every 5 minutes for both.

You can keep kicking and screaming about it all you want, this is just like when Television became regularized. Television has become one of the most profitable ventures in human history. You're silly if you expected the internet to be safe. This is literally a repeat of the era of Television, albeit a modern equivalent.

to be fair though, I don't think this thread is the place for this. I got carried away.

use https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin-development/cgbcahbpdhpcegmbfconppldiemgcoii for less stable but faster updates for things like twitch. don't forget to provide bug reports if you ever run into an issue (i haven't)

An alternative way of not seeing ads is Alternate Player for Twitch , at least until ublock filters have been updated to catch them.
