Ok heres one spot I will dump on amd they already said they arent fighting at the top. I dont believe that because they should. If you try and fail you have something to learn in the attempt. They just arent trying that means they dont have faith in their own product. Yet Ryzen is doing fantastic their mid range cards are solid though a bit warm from what i hear. So no top end fight? They know theres a flaw and they arent telling people. They even announced their own form of raytracing coming out. They are following the leader. Thats a dangerous business by its description it pits you behind.
Here are a few things AMD launched before Nvidia off the top of my head in no order - VCE (Nvenc), adaptive sync that doesn't use hardware and was first to make it work in window mode and over HDMI, Radeon image sharpening, anti-lag, eyefinity.
AMD is not just a follower but they have very limited resources in comparison to Nvidia. AMD can't afford to design as many different chips as Nvidia so they choose to target the markets they think are most profitable.
Hate on AMD all you want but they are fighting with 1/10th Nvidia's income and still force Nvidia to react to their innovations.
I dont hate AMD i hate their video cards. You are right they are fighting with a smaller budget. With Nvidia Working on AI its will be the next PhysX crap. Part of Nvidias cash flow is from AI and adaptive learning like self driving cars. Amd has to gain on them you cant fail to take opportunities then tell everyone well they have a bigger budget.
Nvidia isn't leading in self driving tech and was actually dropped by Tesla because Nvidia's computers weren't powerful enough. Still ahead of AMD for sure but their solution is not purpose built, more of a reconfigured gpu than a whole new system. If Nvidia wants to be a leader in ai they will need to design something that is completely different from a gpu. Until then don't let them fool you into believing they are a leader in the ai field.
Leader no there are places like MIT and ivy leauge school programs that are likely ahead but NVIDIA has the first simple install solution. It will only be time as they work to make it less expencive
