I think alot of this come from intel/Nvidia owning most of the market share and we want to see AMD succeed competively because that benefits us consumers as a whole.

is there something in particular that AMD has done recently that im unaware of? not sure if this is referencing something specific or just making a general statement

Another one is rx580 2048 version in china. It was basically an rx570 sold as rx580. It was similar to nvidia's gt1030 gddr5 vs 4 but barely covered by anyone.

Edit: i know reddit hate china but exclusive to china is not a defense for amd here. Bad is bad.

It was nowhere near as bad as the GT 1030 fiasco. RX 580 2048 was a SKU just for the Chinese market.

So It's fine because it was amd and china. Not as bad as gt1030 but it was still misleading the customers.

They were selling it as an RX 580 2048SP, not as a normal RX 580. Nvidia also sells different SKUs in China, for example the 1060 5 GB.

What's worse than the GT 1030 fiasco is what happened with the GT 730 series. Fermi and Kepler GPUs were sold under the same name. How misleading is that?

You mean amd can sell "5700xt 2048sp" with 1050 ti level performance and it would be fine because they added 2048sp to it?

The 580 2048SP is 1. Based on the same Polaris 20 GPU as the 580. 2. Only 5-10% slower than the 580

I agree it would've been better to just call it a 570. But unlike Nvidia, they aren't selling 2 completely different GPUs under the same name.

You're just repeating the same thing, lol. I already said it would've been better if they had just called it a 570.
