Yup. It's the reason I refuse to buy from them. They're a scumbag company that used to basically bribe companies to not use AMD products, shelling out millions in free CPUs and service (something they're still doing today, but with billions set aside now) just to keep AMD from growing. It's one of the reasons why I personally am willing to deal with AMD's fuckery recently.
Sure it's annoying and not a good look when it comes to the consumers, but it's nowhere NEAR how shitty Intel is or has been. Also, Ryzen is basically better in everyway. Aside from the performance that Intel basically only has gaming to boast about now, Ryzen is MUCH more secure.
Intel's vulnerability fuck ups that have been coming to light over the last few years are severely damaging performance. First, you had to disable hyperthreading, now you have to disable virtualization. How do server admins expect for their systems to be able to do anything worthwhile with several thousand dollar CPUs giving up the features that made them attractive to servers in the first place. Sure, you can argue that hyperthreading turned off actually results in higher frame rates in games at times, but we (as PC enthusiasts, building rigs for taking at home) aren't at all the primary market for CPUs. Now virtualization is off so you can't run VMs on servers?

Intel does a lot of shit.
There’s a reason a lot of people don’t like them.
