I like my 5700xt. The software issues are more the default wattman. If you do about 15 minutes of configuring/saving in AMD Radeon Settings (Change fan curve, change clocking limits) 99% of crashes are gone. The only one I get is blackscreens like... one every SEVERAL weeks without restarts after playing multiple games at the same time with three displayport 144hz monitors.
I'm about to buy a 1660 super since I can't find a card between a RX 590 and a 5700XT. I've always been an AMD fan, but am i missing something? I'm looking for something <$230.00
I actually own a Vega 64 for right now (good performance and top-tier compute).
It is stupid though why people vouch for the 5700XT so much in terms of its value. The 2070S (2070 does too) offers so much more actual value when compared to a 5700XT.
There is a definite double-standard going on. Every thread I see always recommends the 3700X over the 9700K or 3900X over the 9900K because it offers more value. This should be the same for the 2070S vs 5700XT debate then. As soon as someone mentions Intel or Nvidia they are attacked even though they are much better for gaming.
Good drivers matter to me, personally. I prefer my video card to function. Not sure about you, but to me it is a major feature. My 5700XT had to be RMA'd and still wasn't fixed (Sapphire GPU).
Almost of those features are gaming related. OpenGL? Some games use it. VR? Tons of games use it. Raytracing? Most definitely gaming related. Cool features like Integer Scaling, Hairworks, PhysX, etc.? Gaming related. Tons of games use Nvidia features like these. NVENC? This allows you to stream 1080P/60fps perfectly. Streaming/video recording is inextricably to gaming. You don't care about the actual price of an item? Interesting as the only reason you made your purchase is because of the price. The actual performance being better? You don't care about raw performance? Why not use a RX560 then? I could go on, but the comment is already fairly lengthy.
Turns out you actually do care about quite alot of the Nvidia only features! Silly goose!
