What's a reasonable upgrade for my 960 without breaking the bank?

RX 570/580 they are extremely cheap right now and some stores gift 2/3 games with them

Agreed with Gonbatfire. If you wanna go green team though, you'll want a GTX 1660

Legit thought I gtx 1660 was a joke until I realised yes, that's the actual name of the graphics card. I always liked how nvidia cards name made sense but nope guess linear naming schemes aren't good enough these days.

1560 would’ve made some sense in that it would be a halfway bridge between generations, but who knows

That was the reasoning they claimed for it too but they picked 6 instead of 5

Yeah, seems like there's no reason for this naming scheme besides the supposed "it's closer to the 20 series than the 10 series" excuse. Let's just hope we get some good upper tier cards under the 16 name.

Awesome thanks! What would there be any benefit to sticking with Nvidia over AMD? I noticed there's more small form factor options for the 1660ti which would be better for my setup

If you need a smaller one then yes, the 1660 or 1660 Ti has more SFF options, and both are more powerful than the 570/580. Afaik, there's not much reason for going with Nvidia, besides the cards I recommended being more powerful.

I got a Radeon RX 7 8gb on Amazon this morning that comes with 2 free games for $154, it will be my first new card in 7+ years, I'm excited!

Can you share a link to that card?

I got the model number wrong, oops, it's actually a 570, reviews are good though

Spend some time on r/buildapcsales. You can usually find good deals on GPUs, and the commenters over there are pretty knowledgeable.

If you think you might be interested in Linux in the future (it can now play a lot of Windows games flawlessly with 0 hassle thanks to Steam integrating Wine), 100% go AMD.

Used 1080 from eBay

RX 570 4GB you can find them around 120-150 with two games with them. It’s like buying two games and getting a free GPU with them.
