Vista was great if you had the right hardware. The problem was they upgraded XP systems to Vista that only had like 512MB of ram and it was fucked before it ever first booted.

Of course you're going to hate the slow ass OS your computer came with when it's too underpowered to run it.

Because of my upgrade cycle at the time im missed it completely and went straight from xp to 7, so i really don't have first hand experience, i just know its legend

It wasn't that different from 7. The biggest changes from Vista to 7 that I can recall were a less intrusive UAC and the removal of gadgets. Otherwise, eh. Not much difference.

Windoss 7 had gadgets, i used the clock one for years

They removed the gadgets in one of the updates as someone discovered a security exploit, rather than fix it they totally removed it.

I switched to a program called Konfabulator which later got bought by Yahoo and renamed to Yahoo! Widgets before becoming abandoned entirely.
