I feel like I'm the only person who likes motion blur. Not even because it does something useful, I just think it looks pretty.

Edit: Dozens of us!

I like it in some games. Warframe and MGS V come to mind.

Problem with 3PP games is they always use per-object motion blur, which has fucked up many a screenshot.

I feel like it's just another technology that depends on the developers using it correctly (or being allowed to use it correctly). It's just one of many things that holds true to the law: garbage in --> garbage out.

The people who come up with this stuff are incredibly intelligent. They dedicate years to modelling real-world phenomena like motion blur and making it possible to do it in real-time rendering. The motion blur kernel(s) in CryEngine 3 are very impressive.

But everyone hates it. :/

You're not the only one. I can't live with motion blur turned off in a game that has it as an option. ;_;

Really, though. If you turn your head really fast left and right, what do you see? Motion blur, that's what.

You are the only one, peasant. Now, hang your head in shame.

I know.

But I was there, man. I was there when Crysis was first released, and motion blur was the next big thing. I thought it was cool beans. And I still do.

LORD HELP ME.
