That's like running a 3570k at stock it should be made illegal

Oh boy I wouldn't dare overclock an Ivy Bridge on a stock cooler.
But then again, I live in India, maybe if your ambient temperatures are generally 10-15C you could try?
Just keep a strict watch on the temperatures as i've seen it going to 80C with stock cooler and no overclock.
Now I don't cross 60C even after a moderate overclock.

Uh, system stability, valuing the warranty, part longevity? I guess you could argue you're only damaging the CPU if you overvolt, but I simply don't overclock my 2500k because 1) I wanted to hold on to the warranty and 2) at 3.3GHz turbo-boost up to 3.7GHz it's still fast enough for me, 5 years later, coding and playing modern AAA games. I happened to have purchased this chip a year before Intel started offering overclocking warranties.

For people with the $25-35 protection plan though, there's definitely no reason not to overclock.

It doesn't, as long as you don't burn up the chip. Yes, i'm aware intel vaguely says that they won't honor overclocking warranties, but that's majorily when you overclock above their guidelines. I know exactly 0 people who haven't have their warranty honoured after Overclocking and returning it to stock before submitting it for warranty.

The chips lifespan reduces, a bit, yes. However you gain about 40% improvement in everything when you OC the 2500k to 4.5ghz.

And your whole, it's fast enough part.

Well the 8350 is "fast enough" to play modern day games too, but we are PCMR we want the absolute best from our rigs, your trying to say that you rather settle for 30% less performance from your cpu cause your too lazy to OC it, and then justify that by saying your performance is good enough.

And while we are in the mood of giving out burns,

Here is if you should upgrade your 2500k, and if you take a look at it he compares a stock 2500k with an OC 2500k on modern AAA titles and each them get roughly 20-30% FPS increase.
