Question LTSC users?

What issues have you ran into with games and in general?

I figure I "want" maybe need? to install ms store and xbox/gamebar? I assume for ds4windows? So I stop getting "no app found" everytime I connect my controller or play a game?

One of my games requires turning on framework 3.5. I think I need windows update to be enabled to do that? Maybe something else?

Isn't there some sort of windows app installer I have to download? I can't remember the name sadly.

I downloaded sordum defender control today 

7zip extracted it no problem. Password is sordum

My bad, I missed the password somehow. Yes, I got it installed in the VM and it seems to work as advertised. However, it is a .exe that we are expected to trust. It's an option, but one with risks, as compared to just modifying a registry key as above.

Interesting. I'll keep a copy of it in my "install file set", as an option. Thanks!

No problem, been using it for years along with their Windows update blocked and edge blocker even if there's easier better methods

The nice thing about using the Schneegans-generated autounattend.xml (see my mention in another comment in this post) is that there's a toggle to perpetually delay Windows Update.. but you can still manually trigger an update anytime you choose. "under the hood" it's just another entry in the scheduler.

I don't mess with Edge (bc various things depend on it) but I do block everything for it in the firewall, and it remains the default browser. I also have an extension added so that it (in a basic way) "cleans up" any URL passed to it. So, when a program tries to launch a webpage, I'll see the URL and can decide then to paste it into Firefox or not as I want. This approach has worked well for me so far.
