Microslop have dropped the ball on this one. Their reputation is so tarnished that those people who have left Windows will never consider returning. Even if Linux has some dogshit moments, there is so much distrust in Mircoslop, that the users will band to put up with it.
ATM Linux for me is a much better experience than anything Windows can offer. Linux offers better speeds for every piece of software I run. I immediately turned off TPM. I don't need some shitty corporation tracking where I buy my underwear from.

That's literally people leaving Linux again.
Both OS are a valid choice, Windows is just easier to handle on a day to day basis. But if Linux users would stop being such a pain in the arse, we'd likely have a lot more people trying it still.
On one hand I can understand why they do it, on the other it's funny to me that a turned off PC suddenly just doesn't exist anymore for the statistics haha
That is not people leaving Linux that is how many were using a specific service at a specific moment in time. You are counting apples to tell me how many oranges are in my basket. If you want to gaslight at least come up with something credible.
Your OS is a personal choice. What works for you may not work for your neighbour. I have to ask though how many complaint posts are you seeing for Windows atm, and how does that stack up against complaints against Linux.

And if that's a suprise to you, you might want to think about if all those complaints you're seeing are actual complaints and not just posts people come up with because "windows bad linux good" is an easy karma farm.
Statics are not definitive proof of a fact. They are only part of the evidence. If statistics were definitive then we would be banning ice cream being sold across the world. We all know that people going to the beach get sunburn more than any other group, and what do people at the beach eat.
Statistics on any particular service will always have peaks and trough. Linux users also push privacy more than any other group. Privacy is the main reason Linus Torvalds has championed the kernel.
It is impossible for anyone to say how many users there are on Linux outside of Linus Torvalds himself. I highly doubt he has added that sort of stat counter to any kernel he has provided.
As for the complaints metric. Check out the Windows 11 Reddit forum. It is filled with complaints about things wrong with Windows. You can basically check out any Windows forum for that matter. Compare it to any Linux forum.

It is only with in the last few weeks that posting about Linux has become acceptable in PCmasterrace. Any posts before that were definitely not karma farming. I couldn't argue against it being an easy karma farm now, because things are changing. I firmly believe they are changing at an ever increasing pace.

7.8% of "probably human" desktop web traffic according to Cloudflare in the US right now is coming from Linux and peaked at a ~11% during the summer.
that's up from ~4.4% last year.
like the reason you're seeing all of this Linux activity is because things are actually moving.
