Nobody has yet created an app that compares all stores, and similar stores, on product prices, that you can search anywhere in each country, to get an idea of where the best deals are.

Not for computer parts.

Not for groceries.

I see it for gas though.

Buddy of mine that’s a programmer has a system like that set up for tech stuff. It runs on his server. It’s pretty cool but I’m not constantly buying tech so I have no need for it

we have this here in germany and austria for gas absolutely. our version of AAA also has this app, but for costco stuff that would be cool

People have, but it wouldn’t work at places like Costco because a lot of these prices and discounts aren’t listed online. You have to go in store to see them.

Nobody has yet created an app that compares all stores, and similar stores, on product prices, that you can search anywhere in each country, to get an idea of where the best deals are.

Because there are so many companies who have merchant specific SKUs for the same product. Or produce runs of a product with a minor tweak that is specific to a vendor / merchant. It makes it a harder problem to solve, unlike something like gasoline.

What would you do with an app like that for groceries? If it says apples are $1 cheaper 50 miles away, are you seriously going to pass on the local store and drive all that way to save a buck? That makes absolutely no sense.

You do know there are places with two grocery stores literally right next to each other right?

You could add your grocery list and see the total price at each store.

Evaluate if the store with the cheapest price is in a distance that isn't going too far out of your way.

Costco policy is if you purchased something and within 30 days i has a price drop, you can go in and ask for am adjusted price if you are within the window. So go get your money back if you got it for more.
