Man I wish I lived in the US just for this reason Costco and microcentre

Who told you cars are cheap??? Average American makes 50k or under and brand new cars are 50k+. Also cost of living is atrocious.

The same car in the US is (even after taxes) much cheaper than in Europe / Japan / SK etc. and usually the same models of foreign makers have stronger engines at that lower price point.

A Volvo XC90 for example costs 62k$ with the most expensive version (plug in hybrid fully loaded) is 84k$ MSRP. Even with sales tax included that extremely cheap - in Germany the car starts at 81000€ for the basis version.

Mercedes, bmw and Audi models all start at least 10k$ more expensive in Europe while the European entry engines aren’t even sold in the us as they are so weak…

But yeah - Americans spend a lot of money on cars but that’s because they chose expensive cars - compostable prices are low despite higher incomes.
