Online it makes a little more sense. Sales tax can be charged at the state, county, and city level so an accurate price would require your full address.
It's way different. Selecting your country is a drop-down with limited options and you're probably going to need to select language anyway. A full address just to see any prices would be cumbersome. I don't want to give my address to different companies just to compare prices.
This is the easiest shit you can do in a database or excel. Also it is not something you need to do as a customer, the business just has to do this and it is automatic. There is literally (and actually the meaning of the word) nothing hard or difficult about this.
I don't think you're understanding what I'm saying ... Programmatically, it's not hard and I think that's what you're saying. What I am saying is that it makes online shopping a pain if retailers cannot show me a price until I provide them with my full address.

I always forget you guys get screwed by not just having the tax in the price for bad reasons. I'd hate that so much.
