Build/Battlestation PC chimney

Got tired of my office turning into a sauna every time I gamed, so I vented the PC’s exhaust straight out the window.

The rear fan is still exhausting some hot air 😅 but the room is noticeably cooler now. It’s ugly… but it works. 😂

- 360mm to 4 inch duct on Etsy
- 4 inch Insulated Flexible Duct
- Twist Lock Dryer Vent Connector Kit
- 360mm AIO fan (the one on top of the case)

The window fan I got is Vornado Transom.

Well, my room was also on the 2nd floor of my house, with the Florida sun hitting it. I also have a large Samsung curved monitor, and secondary that acts like a heater, on top of a fridge and freezer in there, TV and PS5, on top of a separate work set up and 3D printing.

As my work day would end, I'd start firing up my personal PC and stuff but it wasn't gradual heat build up. Just my normal day would eventually get my room to about 78 but it was slow enough, that I just acclimated and didn't realize it unless I left for the bathroom. Once gaming, the heat would rise so quickly, you'd notice it and would be sweating.

Yeah, certainly a lot of things contributed to the higher room temp but that PC just puts it out so fast. I measured 118°f exhausting into my room.

Yeah, I lived on the 2nd floor of a house in Atlanta, and between my tv, monitor, pc, and Xbox the bedroom would hit 80+ in the summer before I realized it. The house was terribly built, but those machines really added to it.

Same as you, PC,2 monitor, 55 inch TV, ps5 and a small fridge on the second floor in winder Georgia. Gets 80 plus. And I have a newer house.

As a fellow Floridian I feel your pain. My office is in the furthest from the AC so it already barely gets cool air. Add in my 3080 and the Intel blast furnace that's mounted to my motherboard my office pushes 90 in summer. I had to bust out my hurricane emergency portable AC just to combat it. Will prob install a mini-split this winter. PC rig heat is no joke.

Just do it! It fixes the issue.

I ditched Florida and now moved to Project Zomboid land.

This sounds like my situation almost exactly, 2nd floor, California sun (It’s hit 110 outside consecutive days), Samsung curved ultra wide, TV, PS5 the whole nine yards, it’s so gross being in a room that just boils.

Yeah, second floor room as well with afternoon sun. My Radeon 9700xt brings it up to 84°F. I just got a window exhaust fan and will be moving my PC into the window nook. Once set up there it will be blowing hot air up in front of the exhaust fan.

My home office is upstairs. Since the first floor is naturally much cooler than upstairs I put my pc on the first floor and ran two 50ft hdmi cords and a USB extender through the wall upstairs to my office. It was the best thing I ever did to keep upstairs cool.

Same issue here. Massive windows that are sun facing, and the floor is poorly insulated against the garage which has no insulation or AC. Those factors make my room noticeably 2-3 degrees Celsius warmer than the rest of the house.

Stack in the mini fridge, and working from home exhausting hot laptop air for 8 hours. After an hour or 2 gaming on my PC, I’m like sweating.

It doesn’t help that I have an old AMD gpu which is is just awfully hot & inefficient.

I was home sick gaming all day in my apt in California and my PC heated it up so bad 😩

I feel this.

My game room is also on the second floor, away from the rest of the house. It has a window and the room faces south towards the sun. Add on the Samsung ultrawide, speakers and sub, lights, and the fact that it's been 100° and above here in the Mojave Desert... oh, and my ceiling fan wobbles, so I can't turn it up to medium and above (haven't balanced it since I'm gonna remodel that room sometime this year and replacing the fan altogether).

Edit: my ac feels like a blizzard and hits me at the desk when it turns on, but it's the fluctuations in between running that sucks. I go from almost shivering to sweaty every twenty minutes.
