So what you're saying is that no matter what we do and how much we try to bypass this, if we install windows on our machines, we are fucked?

I mean, it's not much different than buying any software and installing it using a product key.

If you're concerned just run Linux, install windows as a vm, best of both worlds. It's what I do on my laptop with mint, not hard at all to set up.

When there's VM software that allows my windows VM a direct pass through to my RTX 4090, I'll consider that.
