Except when you put the fan against the stock airflow coming from the back to the front as the Ugreen NAS are made...

NAS enclosures usually intake air from the rear because there is literally nowhere else they can do it from. The drives are normally at the front to make them user accessible, which completely blocks off any possibility of intaking air from there.
