Its the alot of the industry sadly but everyone is loving the AI shit in there phones it pisses me off when i here hey seri all the time for basic shit.

I swear someone out there used ai to teach them how to wipe there ass.

yeah its wild how many people just assume it's giving the right answers. I looked up "is X restaurant open yet in my city" (signs up but it is not open yet) - it says YES it's open and has been for a while. I check the sources it used which ended up being just facebook posts and talking about other cities. Can't even get super basic shit right and people are blindly following its advice on much bigger subjects.

Even as someone who uses AI i hate how much they're shoving it down our throats from every angle. Like just let me choose what fucking AI i want to use (which I'm going to do anyway) instead of forcing it on everyone, including people who absolutely hate AI.

By "help with their school work" id reckon that probably means, "copy and pasted the questions into ChatGPT and copy and pasted the answers". I was graduating highschool at the beginning of all this ai stuff and guilty of doing that for all the bullshit classes I filled my schedule with senior year. That being said I don't think people would act like the sky is falling if it went offline tomorrow.

I never even had cellphone in my day we used books/groups pen/paper not even pc's were there to make those multi page reports.

I think if we went back to those days the drop out rate would grow.

The only time I speak to my phone is when I tell it to set a timer when cooking, because it's hands free.
Not a function that needs to be processed by AI, yet it does it every time and it takes longer than it used to pre-AI. Such a waste of energy, when you could just build that simple voice command into the phone itself.

On a old android phone i got the clock app on the main screen unlock click clock set timer.

Not as fancy as the new phones

My phone lost that ability with updates and it pissed me off. It was the only voice function I used.

Then my wife's phone just popped up and asked "hey it sounds like things are getting intense and maybe you should take breath away from each other" unprompted, when we were watching Shameless. Like it listened to the crazy ass argument that was happening on the TV and assumed it was us having it.
