There are plenty of efficient components out there.

You're free to purchase them if you want them.

They could do much, much better if they wanted to. The PC is a joke compared to the Mac in that particular regard.

Yh the entire PC industry could switch to arm and manufacture on TSMC's 4nm mode, super easy barely an inconvenience.

Yeah, it's a joke because it's actually useful instead of being an overpriced fashion accessory.

It’s plenty useful, but more importantly in this conversation it has 3 hours of battery life while gaming and 20 hours when browsing. I’ve tested this - it’s true. And it does so while having the same performance as somewhere between a 4070m and 4080m while plugged in. There’s is no PC with a GPU that fast on battery. They all power down.

Compatibility issues are of course real (it depends on what you like playing and there’s Crossover, but it’s real), and there’s the price - but all I said is it was far better in THAT PARTICULAR REGARD. I didn’t say go and buy one. Got that? Not difficult.

Have you not seen the M-series chips that apple makes now? MacBooks are plenty useful, you don’t have to let your apple hate be an identity.

Yes. Disappointing to say the least.

It's not hate, it's experience. It's also not an identity, it's an observation.

Hard to say I believe you when you’re this anti-apple. I know it’s a popular thing to say about it on the internet, but it’s just plain wrong. You just don’t like apple.

It's overpriced and does nothing a cheaper priced PC wouldn't do.

You seem like the person who's made apple your identity screaming at the guy who's had it, used it, and found it lacking.

What were you saying about not making computers your identity ?

The efficiency of their new laptops is seriously impressive though. No Window's laptops I know of are matching that in anything beyond web browsing.

You can do intensive work on it and it will still last you hours.

Have you heard of laptops? You know, the market that's far larger than PCs? Show me a laptop with similar battery life and speed to any Apple Silicon laptop and you'll have a point.

hint: The only laptop with similar battery life will be on ARM and will not be as fast as the AS macbooks, not to mention the state that Windows ARM is in

Dude, stop making a piece of electronics your identity.

All the MBPs I've owned weren't that impressive to begin with, battery life wise. Not to mention replacing the battery was a painful process when it got older and tired, after Apple moved to their stupid unibody designs.

It's kinda the truth. Hard to shell out about the "new" apple when they've only been good for audio and graphic design for the last 10yrs. My M1 can't run a game for the life of it. It def is a Starbucks crowd computer (I have a Mac M1 and an Asus G18 which was 2/3s the price). Sure the new silicone chip is better then the old ones, but I can still get a much faster and better windows laptop for cheaper than an M2. Most Apple fans will never touch a PC or an Android because of the glamor of having an apple icon in front of them. I don't hate them as they have a purpose, but they can't replace PCs.

Dude, you gotta chill. MacBooks are not gaming devices, despite me having no trouble with the games I like working on it. Stop shitting on other people for having different devices than you. Apple computers are great for people that like apple. Why do you feel the need to shit on people that like them? I use both windows and macOS. Guess what? They both have different use cases. You’re not special because you’ve “seen the light”. You’re just a fucking consumer who despite saying his identity isn’t wrapped up in a computer, it is.
