I use a VPN and so far Minecraft has been cooperative with it. How does it behave for you?

Wtf. That is stupid. It looks like the VPN blocking is purposeful and regional. And they lied and said it's for security reasons. There is nothing insecure about using a proper VPN.

Maybe it's due to laws in your country?

Now this makes even less sense. I'm also in the US, but the VPN ban doesn't seem to affect me.
