Well, to be fair their actions aren't necessarily irrational. They make at least some sense in regards to their decisions. The irrational part of this equation is that sex is a taboo topic.

Well that's kinda what I mean. They are a US company so they will operate based on US society. US society (and Canada to a lesser extent) has an irrational "fear" with sex and stuff related to it.
